That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 revealed a new key visual and trailer earlier today during a 10th-anniversary event. The highly anticipated sequel will premiere in April 2024. STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION is performing the opening theme song. The new season will air in two consecutive cours with studio 8bit animating.
Atsushi Nakayama is directing the third season of the anime, which is also known as Tensura. Toshizo Nemoto is in charge of the series composition. Jin Iketagawa is the sound director. The Tensura anime will once again feature character designs by Ryoma Ebata and creature designs by Takahiro Kishida. Hitoshi Fujima is composing the music.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. also known as Tensura, is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The anime adaptation actually follows the manga, which features art by Taiki Kawakami. The TV anime adaptation by 8bit has 48 episodes split across two TV seasons. The franchise also has a spin-off anime titled The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, which adapted one of the manga spin-off series. A movie titled Scarlet Bond premiered in 2022. The most recent installment in the franchise is a three-episode Coleus’ Dream OVA it premiered earlier this year.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
Corporate worker Mikami Satoru is stabbed by a random killer, and is reborn to an alternate world. But he turns out to be reborn a slime!
Thrown into this new world with the name Rimuru, he begins his quest to create a world that’s welcoming to all races.
