The Apothecary Diaries Releases Episode 19 Insert Song

TOHO Animation released a video of The Apothecary Diaries episode 19 insert song titled “Blaze of Clear Sky” by Daichi Takenaka. The song was featured in the last part of the episode when the main character Maomao was injured and carried away by Jinshi, heavily implying the young man’s true identity. As of writing, the song is ranked second place on the iTunes Store, while the video has received over 380K views. Watch The Apothecary Diaries episode 19 insert song below:

The previous insert songs in The Apothecary Diaries include “Omoikaze” from episode 3, “Asu To Tazunete” from episode 9, and “Flower in the Snow” from episode 12. Respective anime music videos were also released on TOHO’s YouTube page, as well as official releases on multiple streaming platforms. The anime’s CD soundtrack, which includes official exclusive art, is set to be released on April 17, 2023.

Daichi Takenaka is also known for his performance on The Ancient Magus’ Bride insert song titled “Iruna Etelero (Lindel’s Flower Song) in Season 1, episodes 11 and 12. The singer also revealed that director Norihiro Naganuma invited him back to perform for The Apothecary Diaries. “Blaze of Clear Sky” is now available on Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and YouTube Music. The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) is a Japanese light novel series written by Natsu Hyuga and illustrated by Toko Shino. Shunfunotomo currently publishes the series while J-Novel Club publishes the English version. The series also has two manga adaptations: the manga series of the same name by Itsuki Nanao, illustrated by Nekokurage; and “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Mao Mao no Kokyu Nazotoki Techo (The Apothecary Diaries: The Palace Cloister Mystery-Solving Notebook of Mao Mao)” by Minoji Kurata. Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan and Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X publishes them in print, respectively.

TOHO Animation and OML are currently in charge of animating The Apothecary Diaries series, which is set to have a total of 24 episodes. The ongoing series is available to watch on Netflix and Crunchyroll in select regions. New episodes are released every Saturday at 24:55 JST, while the English subbed versions release an hour later. Crunchyroll describes the plot:
Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
