The previously announced The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses anime adaptation revealed a trailer and teaser visual, along with the staff and cast information for the series. Award-winning voice actress Shion Wakayama is voicing the main character Ai Mie while Masahiro Ito is playing the role of Kaede Komura. Studio GoHands is animating the series and it is slated to begin broadcasting this July.
Susumu Kudo is acting as chief director of the series with Katsumasa Yokomine as director. Tamazo Yanagi is in charge of the series composition and Takayuki Uchida is the character designer. Jimmythumb P is composing the music and Makoto Furuta, Keiji Tani, and Takayuki Uchida are credited as chief animation directors.
The anime is based on the manga by Koume Fujichika which was initially launched on the author’s Twitter account in April 2018. Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine later acquired the title in November of that same year. The manga currently has 10 volumes in circulation. Comikey is publishing the English edition digitally and they describe the plot as:
“If we can continue to keep getting closer like this, I’ll be happy…” Kaede Komura has a huge crush on his seat partner, Mie-san. She, however, has terrible eyesight, and tends to either forget or break her glasses! Komura-kun offers her a helping hand, and as they grow closer, their feelings for each other grow too.
