The Irregular at Magic High School Reveals 10th Anniversary Trailer

The Irregular at Magic High School anime is celebrating its 10th anniversary in April 2024. To commemorate the big milestone, the franchise will be revealing new information in the next few days – the next big reveal is set for January 3. The first piece of information is a trailer that looks back on the decade of the anime:

The Irregular at Magic High School series is a web novel by Tsutomu Sato. Originally published on Shosetsuka ni Naro, Dengeki Bunko published it in light novel format in 2011. Manga adaptations of each arc also exist. The Irregular at Magic High School: Magian Company sequel started in 2020.

The first season of the anime by studio MADHOUSE aired in the Spring of 2014, while the Visitor Arc sequel (season 2) followed in the Fall of 2020. Although MADHOUSE animated season 1, 8-bit took over for the 2nd season. The prequel, The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc (studio 8-bit) aired on December 31st, 2021. The franchise also has a movie from 2017, titled The Girl Who Summons the Stars (studio 8-bit). Spin-off anime The Honor at Magic High School by studio CONNECT aired throughout the Summer 2021 season. A new anime project is scheduled for this year.

Yen Press licensed the original light novel in English and describes the plot as:
The year is 2095. Magic has been tamed as another form of technology, and the practice of magic is now a rigorous discipline. Brother and sister Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba are just about to start their first year at the renowned First Magic High School of Japan. But the school’s ironclad rules mean that the brilliant Miyuki enters the prestigious Course 1, while her older brother, Tatsuya, is relegated to Course 2–and that’s just the beginning of their troubles!
