The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Gets Third Trailer

The main trailer of The Quintessential Quintuplets movie has been revealed, ahead of the May 20 premiere in Japan. The movie will be animated by Bilbury Animation Studios. The sequel to the highly popular TV anime was first announced back in April 2021 and it also received a trailer during the Anime Japan 2022. The story will be continuing where the anime left off and will be adapting the remainder of the manga.

Kodansha describes the movie’s story arc as:
While on a school trip to Kyoto, the sisters’ relationships nearly go south as they vie for Futaro’s affection, but they weather the storm, come out stronger for it, and enjoy the trip in the end. During the chaos, it also comes to light that Yotsuba was the girl Futaro met on that prior field trip six years earlier … The quintuplets’ past will now be revealed!!

The Quintessential Quintuplets movie is originally credited to Negi Haruba and will be directed by Masato Jinbo. Keiichirō Ōchi will be in charge of the screenplay. Hanae Nakamura and Miki Sakurai are responsible for music. Masato Katsumata is the character designer, Akihito Ougiyama is the art director, Hajime Takakuwa is the sound director, and Daisuke Chiba is the director of photography. The color design will be by Aiko Matsuyama while editing by Mutsumi Takemiya.

The cast of the movie include:

  • Ayana Taketatsu as Nino Nakano
  • Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba Nakano
  • Inori Minase as Itsuki Nakano
  • Kana Hanazawa as Ichika Nakano
  • Miku Itō as Miku Nakano

The Quintessential Quintuplets is a rom-com manga by Negi Haruba that follows the story of five girls who don’t do anything but study. Their tutor, Futaro Uesugi, has to think of a plan to suit each of them. The first season (2019) was animated by Tezuka Productions, while season two (2021) was animated by Bilbury Animation Studios. There is also an upcoming PS4 and Switch game.
