The Quintessential Quintuplets movie received a new trailer on Sunday during Anime Japan 2022. The movie is set to release in Japan on May 20, 2022.
Since The Quintessential Quintuplets was first serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine back in August 2017, the series has seen its fair share of success. Written and illustrated by Negi Haruba, The Quintessential Quintuplets manga recently hit 16 million copies in circulation as of March 2022. The manga was also the 5th best-selling manga of 2019 and the third-best in the first half of 2020, according to Oricon. The manga ended with volume 14 of the series in 2020.
The anime adaptation was announced back in 2018 and has since received two seasons. Season one (2019) was animated by Tezuka Productions, while season two (2021) was animated by Bilbury Animation Studios. The upcoming movie Quintessential Quintuplets movie will pick up from where season two left off and will adapt the rest of the manga, bringing the anime to a conclusion.
While on a school trip to Kyoto, the sisters’ relationships nearly go south as they vie for Futaro’s affection, but they weather the storm, come out stronger for it, and enjoy the trip in the end. During the chaos, it also comes to light that Yotsuba was the girl Futaro met on that prior field trip six years earlier … The quintuplets’ past will now be revealed!!
