A new “The Seven Deadly Sins” sequel film is officially coming in Summer 2021. Its title is The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light, and it’s set after the events that happened in the manga. For the anime fans, that also means after the currently airing anime season “The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement”. The original creator Nakaba Suzuki is in charge of the story, and it will feature elements he “didn’t dare include in the manga”. A special logo was also released:
Toei is listed for the movie distribution, but it’s unknown which studio will adapt it. Meanwhile, the latest season has 2 episodes out and will have 22 more. Studio DEEN and Marvy Jack are handling the animation, and it will be the final season of the anime. Suzuki Nakaba started The Seven Deadly Sins manga back in 2012. It ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and ended earlier this year on March 25th. The direct sequel releases in the magazine’s issue on January 27. 2021 as well. Its title is “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” and will focus on a new generation of characters.
The author said that there will be elements he didn’t “dare” include in the main story, and the Seven Deadly Sins sequel film might just make 2021 even more interesting!
The kingdom of Liones is thrown into turmoil when the king’s Holy Knights are corrupted by a distinctly unholy demonic power. The land’s only hope is a band of powerful warriors known as The Seven Deadly Sins – an exiled group of oddballs who seem to spend as much time fighting each other as they do fighting their enemies. Princess Elizabeth desperately seeks their aid, but the leader of her would-be saviors turns out to be an undersized pervert with a broken blade and a talking pig! They are soon joined by a jealous giant, a fussy fairy, and an immortal bandit pining over his lost love. Can these people really be the legendary heroes she’s looking for?
