“To Your Eternity” episode 10 is out! It’s the Monster Brothers VS the Knocker! Gugu also discovers an attack only he can do. Can they defeat the enemy? The episode is titled, “New Family.” The journey continues!
“To Your Eternity” episode 10 begins with the continuation of the fierce battle against the tree-like enemy. Gugu and Fushi are fighting hard to protect each other in battle. Fushi angrily tells Gugu to leave but the boy insists on helping. Gugu eventually gets thrown away and ends up vomiting out all the alcohol in his stomach. This, however, gives him an idea!
The young boy hurriedly runs back to the shop to ask the old man to refill his alcohol. At the same time, Rean’s family is also there to bring the runaway girl home. It’s funny to see Gugu drunk in front of everyone. Pioran, however, picks up that Fushi is in trouble so she asks the old man to help Gugu. Before leaving for the forest, Gugu defends Rean from her insensitive family. He also accidentally confesses! Even Pioran scarily stops them from leaving.
When Gugu returns to the forest with his fire torch, he fights an epic battle with the Knocker-Oniguma. Using the alcohol from his stomach, Gugu blows a fierce ball of flame! Fire away! The tree-like enemy burns to death. However, Fushi is nowhere to be seen. Gugu grieves for his brother until suddenly, a light appears and leads Gugu to a rock — Fushi’s very first vessel!
The Beholder commends Gugu and says that Fushi is lucky to have him. With his help, Fushi returns back to his wolf form. The monster brothers celebrate! After biting Gugu (as promised for not leaving the battle), Fushi thanks him. It’s a very wholesome moment in “To Your Eternity” episode 10. Honestly, my heart is glad to see the two of them happily playing.
They then have a feast for breakfast. Everyone is happy and compliments Gugu’s delicious cooking, especially Rean’s family! Gugu also finally comes to good terms with the Booze Man. Meanwhile, The Beholder tells Fushi to continue his journey so he can become stronger to fight the Knockers. However, Fushi says that he needs Gugu.
Rean also decides to go home and says that she doesn’t mind her situation anymore. Gugu adds that the both of them are not so weak to endure difficulties in life. “To Your Eternity” episode 10 comes to a close as we jump to four years later. We discover that Gugu, Rean, and Fushi are all grown-up now. Together with Pioran and the old man, they all look like a happy family.
I really love this episode! It had an epic battle followed by a lot of wholesome moments. Honestly, I was prepared for a gut punch this episode but it instead delivered happy emotions.
We would all probably agree that the best part of “To Your Eternity” episode 10 is definitely Gugu’s fight with the Knocker. It was very scary, suspenseful, and exciting! I had goosebumps watching it. Gugu’s new fighting skill as a flamethrower is so cool and awesome. This part of the episode is really “lit.” (Ba-dum-tss.) In addition, my personal favorite of the episode is when Fushi bites Gugu for not leaving the battle. They play for a while and then Fushi thanks Gugu sweetly. They really are like brothers. I really do “lava” wholesome episode.
Plus, Pioran was also cool for trying to stop Rean’s family from leaving. I also appreciate the fact that The Beholder respected Fushi’s wishes to stay with Gugu. He did say that the ability to choose is a sacred thing. He always seems to be so ominous though. Honestly, I’m not sure what to feel about the “end” he told Fushi.
The ending is really interesting—Fushi is older! This brings up new mysteries for his immortality too. Plus, he seems to have learned a lot because he cooked delicious lunch. However, the most surprising reveal after the time skip is no other than the muscular Gugu! It’s heartwarming to see how well he’s been doing. He’s also proud of who he is now. It funnily reminds me of One Punch Man’s workout routine, but for Gugu’s case, it’s a lot of pull-ups! (And maybe all that work routine around the fields and the shop too.)
Most of all, my heart is full of this frame. Look at this happy family! I am so genuinely happy for Fushi and Gugu that they “grew up” together. I’m glad everyone is alive and well. The arc seems to be nearing its end so I’m excited to see how Fushi’s journey will continue from here.
As we reach the halfway point through the anime, there’s surely a lot of changes coming our way. It’s also fun to mention that Gugu’s voice actor, Ryouko Shiraishi, tweeted about how she is thankful for Gugu as she hands over the role to his new voice, Yashiro Taku. Check the tweet below:
