Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Episode 6 – Makoto Takes a Test

“Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” episode 6 is out! Makoto takes his first request from the Adventurer’s Guild. We were left with a cliffhanger last week so it’s frustrating that we discover how misleading it actually was!

In the end, the quest proceeds smoothly and Rembrandt becomes grateful for Makoto’s kindness and skills despite being a low adventurer. The episode is titled, “Melancholy of a Handsome Middle-Aged Men.” Honestly, I’m bummed out that nothing interesting happened.

The preparation or build-up in this episode is how Makoto will help Rembrandt make Ambrosia. It will be the cure for his family’s curse and illness. I realize that the title, just like the cliffhanger last week, is really misleading! Anyway, while waiting for the Alchemy Meister, Makoto goes to register at the Merchant’s Guild. This is like Makoto’s alone day out right? I enjoy a good casual day.

Makoto’s Challenging Test, Sort of

Apparently, there’s a difficult test for the Merchant’s Guild! Dun-dun-dun. However, Makoto –the low and newbie adventurer– passes so easily. Again! It’s funny how he didn’t need to rely on his “overpowering-protagonist” powers, but instead just basic smarts from his elementary schooling. (He said it was easy math stuff, but to me, anything math-related is hard! Ha-ha-ha!)

Aside from my own weird reactions, this episode honestly feels a bit lacking compared to the previous ones. There’s no battle, conflict, or story development scenes. There’s the interesting idea though of having an illusory city that’ll be good for business. Plus, we do get to see our main trio all together again!

Tomoe is back!

Tomoe secretly returns to eat crab and watch her historical drama so of course, Emma scolds her. The dragon lady goes back to work translating Makoto’s memories with Mio. As always, these adorable ladies get into another silly argument! Mio becomes too fond of anime and demands to see the continuation from Tomoe. (Who hasn’t?)

Makoto, like the parent/master he is, comes to diffuse the situation. It really is the best when they’re all together! These funny and chaotic scenes are the ones I love so much about Tsukimichi. The light comedy always raises my spirits, especially the last one in the inn.

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Episode 6 comes to an end when the alchemy meister replies to Makoto’s request and they go to make the Ambrosia. Meanwhile, other adventurers are unhappy about this. It looks like they plan to stop Makoto…
