Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Episode 7-10: Increasing Strength

“Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” episode 10 is out and honestly, the recent episodes have been quite fun. Makoto is growing to become an excellent merchant and an even better leader! His magic is also growing in strength.

Plus, Tomoe and Mio are cute and horrifyingly incredible! This trio is really growing on me and I realize that when they’re together, the comedy of this show really slaps! I’m always excited to see what shenanigans they might do next.

Makoto Helps Rembrandt

After Makoto succeeds in breaking the curse, we also discover that it was the adventurers who conspired against the Rembrandt family. “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” episode 7 focuses on this plot and it eventually leads to Makoto having a one-sided fight with them. It’s quite entertaining to watch because as I mentioned before, this anime is best when the trio is altogether. It’s fascinating, unpredictable, and just fun!

Sure this might be low-budget, but I think that adds to the charm. There’s Makoto managing his best, Tomoe the wannabe samurai, and Mio who’s cute when she’s jealous. They’re adorable, silly, and amusing in their own way. In addition, their action scenes are actually very satisfying to watch.

In the end, Makoto gains a good relationship with Rembrandt, an influential person that will definitely be helpful in his future endeavors.

Tomoe’s Leadership

It only gets better in “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” episode 8, when the demi-plane starts its Demiplane Ranking Tournament. It’s an interesting plot and I love the camaraderie among the citizens. World-building is always a curious part of fantasy animes. Not only that, there’s the character-building too and I have to say how impressed I am with Tomoe. She’s proving to be a strong, useful, loyal servant to Makoto. Her speeches, solo investigations, and tactic training were really cool. It definitely gave me gaming vibes that an isekai fan would appreciate.

In all honesty, I felt a bit lost with the Rembrandt arc. At this point in the show… what exactly is the plot? As much as I love the fast pacing, I wish “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” could slow down and tell the story more thoughtfully. Maybe it’s because of the adaption from light novel/manga to anime? Anyway, it makes me really want to read the original material!

Makoto Dies for Power

Of everything that’s happened so far, I think the most interesting is from “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” episode 9 when Makoto uses his bow and arrow. Apparently, he dies every time he concentrates on his power…!?

It’s a scary thought, and I understand why Mio was terrified. Our overpowering MC is getting stronger, and in fact, might even be on par with the goddess! Well well well, this is an intriguing development!

Right after a character breakthrough, we are thrown with comedic shenanigans. It’s absolutely ridiculous, and I was laughing out loud. Tomoe and Mio, who have been trying to “care” for Makoto since the first episodes, suddenly become envious and in turn, aggressive. Makoto’s anxious reactions were really funny, but it was Tomoe and Mio’s jealousy that really stole the show!

Saving the Ogre Village

“Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” episode 10 might be the most thrilling episode we have. We follow Mio and Makoto’s “date,” meet the ogres, and defeat the lich threatening the village. I definitely feel the adventure-fantasy vibes. I admit that the story is all over the place but in all honesty, it’s not boring at all. The banter is always entertaining and their powers are awesome to watch. Tomoe, for example, is really cute. Her noises are just adorable. (Best-girl Tomoe!)

The lich enemy surprisingly becomes Makoto’s new knowledgeable companion. What’s more, he turns out to be a handsome young man! The group interactions are surely going to become funnier with this addition.

As always, the show leaves us with another cliffhanger as Tomoe becomes mysteriously injured. This looks really intense and I’m worried that the demi-plane is in danger because of those suspicious and ungrateful humans.
