Vinland Saga Season 2 is entering its second cour with episode 13, which is slated to premiere on April 3, 2023. The preview for the episode that will kick off the new part of the story is now out, along with a new trailer for the second cour. The anime is also getting new theme songs: SURVIVE SAID THE PROPHET is returning with “Paradox” (opening) and haju:harmonics is singing “Ember,” the new ending song.
“Dark Clouds” is the title of the upcoming episode and the official website describes the plot as:
Near Ketil’s farm, a slave murders his master’s family and escapes.
In the farm, Thorfinn and Einar, whose freedom was before their eyes, reflected on his future actions. Einar worries about Arnheid, who cannot be free on her own will while Sverkel collapses on the pitch.

A new millennium begins in the southern part of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. After the death of his longtime enemy, Askeladd, Thorfinn lost his purpose in life. He was bought by the landowner Ketil as a “slave” and engaged in land reclamation work on his farm. Thorfinn meets a young man there, Einar, who was also a slave like him.
