The winners of the Newtype Anime Awards 2022-2023 are here, with Bocchi the Rock and Sword Art Online winning big. The award event was held on October 28 and it covered all anime titles that aired between June 2022 and July 2023. The voting for Newtype Anime Awards 2022-2023 was open until August 31 of this year. The awards were first held in 2011, when Puella Magi Madoka Magica won the Best Anime Award and Macross Frontier the Movie: The Wings of Goodbye won the Best Movie. Newtype is Kadokawa’s monthly magazine, which focuses mainly on anime content, but also covers other parts of otaku culture – manga, video games, seiyuu, and more.
