Yowamushi Pedal: LIMIT BREAK (Season 5) revealed a new visual ahead of the October 9, 2022 premiere. TMS Entertainment is animating the sequel.
The theme songs for the fifth season of the anime were recently announced with a new trailer and include:
Yowamushi Pedal is based on a manga by Wataru Watanabe. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shounen Champion in 2008 and it currently has over 650 chapters. It received an anime adaptation by 8 Pan and TMS Entertainment in 2013. The sequel, Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road, aired from 2014 to 2015, followed by season 3 titled Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation in 2017. Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line is the latest season and it aired in 2018. The franchise also spawned multiple movies, OVAs, as well as a shot web series. Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike spin-off manga is also ongoing and it received an anime movie adaptation in 2018.
Yen Press is licensing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Power-pedaling Sakamichi Onoda has long been conquering the steepest slopes and regularly making the ninety-kilometer round-trip to Akihabara on a mommy bike!! But when his bike commute to his new high school lands him in a confrontation with the serious first-year road racer Imaizumi, Onoda has a major showdown on his hands!
