Yuki Kajiura, music composer, arranger, and lyricist will be releasing a special collection album, titled Early BEST Collection for Soundtrack to commemorate the 30th anniversary of her debut. The release will summarize the early days of the composer’s career, including the works from before she became popular worldwide with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Sword Art Online soundtracks.
Yuki Kajiura’s collection album will have a total of 71 tracks, which she personally selected from the anime and games that she worked with from 2001 up to 2009. Many of the tracks are currently difficult to find on CDs. This soundtrack collection will include music from MADLAX, NOIR, El Cazador de la Bruja, PandoraHearts, Elemental Gelade, Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Aquarian Age, and many more. Not only that, it will also include 7 tracks from Bandai Namco Music Live’s Mai-HiME series. The booklet that comes with it will also feature interviews with Yuki Kajiura about the process of music production. The 30th Anniversary Early BEST Collection for Soundtrack album will be released on December 6, 2023.
The Limited First Edition includes a Blu-ray Disc with a studio live performance titled “Yuki Kajiura LIVE Extra Edition ~ Studio LIVE Streaming vol.#1 reprise!,” a recreation of Yuki Kajiura LIVE VOL#1, a performance that took place in 2008 and was first streamed on September 18, 2020. In addition, SACRA MUSIC will also be releasing The Works for Soundtrack II on the same day which comprises the soundtracks for the live-action dramas.
In addition to her career as a composer, Kajiura also founded FictionJunction – her solo project that focuses works that feature other musicians, singers and artists.
