86: Eighty-Six Episodes 22 and 23 Delayed Until March 2022

86: Eighty-Six episodes 22 and 23, which are also the final episodes of the first season, have been delayed until March 2022. Episode 22 will air on March 12, while Episode 23 is airing a week after – March 19.

This isn’t the first delay that the second cour of 86: Eighty-Six is facing. Episodes 18 and 19 were both pushed back due to the production issues. December 11 also didn’t have a new episode, because of a previously scheduled event. Scheduling issues, combined with production issues, were most likely the cause of the delays. Since episodes 22 and 23 are now delayed, episode 20 will be the final one of 86: Eighty-Six this year.

The staff once again apologized for the delay. The information came after a special program, which aired today.

86: Eighty-Six anime started airing in the Spring of 2021. A-1 Pictures is animating the series, with Koshimasa Ishii as the director. Tetsuya Kawakami is the character designer, while Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano composed the OST. Toshiya Oono oversaw the series composition. Aniplex is producing the anime.

The anime is based on a light novel by Asato Asato, with illustrations by Shirabii. Dengeki Bunko started serializing it in 2017. A manga adaptation is also ongoing. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English. The second cour of the series covers Volume 2 of the light novel.

Having bid Lena farewell, Shin and the surviving members of the Spearhead squadron continue into the heart of Legion territory. There, they endure countless hardships until the Federal Republic of Giad, a reformed nation that offers them a second chance at a peaceful life, rescues them. But it isn’t long before a sense of duty calls the Eighty-Six back to the battlefield. Choosing to enlist in the military, they willingly walk back through the gates of hell, this time joined by a peculiar new ally-Frederica Rosenfort: a haughty young girl with a rare ability and wisdom far beyond her years.
