Previously posted as an April Fools’ day joke this year, Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours is now officially getting a spin-off anime series titled Genjitsu no Yohane: Sunshine in the Mirror. The news was made public during the second day of the Aqours 6th live in Tokyo Dome. The series is slated to air in 2023 and a trailer has also been released.
The anime will adapt the Yohane of the Parhelion manga which features the daily life of Yohane (Yoshiko Tsushima) in a fantasy world. The manga series is written by Hajime Yatate and Sakurako Kimino with Matsuda Kouta as the illustrator. Studio Bandai Namco Arts (previously Sunrise) will be producing the series. Asami Nakatani will be the director with Toshiya Ono on the scripts. Tatsuya Kato is composing the music and Yumiko Yamamoto is doing the character designs. The cast from Love Live! Sunshine!! where Aqours is from will reprise their roles:
