Nichijou manga is coming back in October – according to the author’s official Twitter. Arawi Keiichi posted an illustration announcing the news. The manga will be available in the monthly Shonen Ace magazine. The issue will be released on October 26, 2021.
The author tweeted: I’ll start to serialize “Nichijou” again because I’ve got the urge. The illustration similarly says: I’ll start to serialize Nichijou in Shonen Ace’s December Issue. Thank you. Sitting next to the announcement panel, is one of Nichijou characters – Aioi Yuuko, also known as Yukko.
Comic Natalie reported the news with the December issue’s cover. Incidentally, the issue marks the 27th anniversary of the magazine. As a special bonus, it will bundle a mask case printed with the author’s newly drawn illustration.
Arawi Keiichi’s Nichijou ended in Monthly Shonen Ace’s December issue in 2015, while the final volume came out on December 10, 2015.. The issue was released on October 26, so Nichijou manga will return exactly 6 years after the finale.
In this just-surreal-enough take on the “school genre” of manga, a group of friends (which includes a robot built by a child professor) grapple with all sorts of unexpected situations in their daily lives as high schoolers. The gags, jokes, puns and haiku keep this series off-kilter even as the characters grow and change. Check out this new take on a storied genre and meet the new ordinary.
