Kadokawa Shoten started serializing Zappon’s light novel series Banished From Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside in June 2018. The novel is still ongoing and currently has 8 volumes available. The same publisher started publishing a manga adaptation in December 2018 and as of now, it has 6 volumes in circulation.
Funimation started streaming the anime on October 6, 2021, and it currently has 3 episodes. Studio Flad (Dame x Prince) and Wolfsbane (Peter Grill) are currently animating the series, while Makoto Hoshino (King’s Raid) is directing.
