Bibliophile Princess Reveals New Trailer, October 6 Premiere

The Bibliophile Princess anime adaptation revealed a new trailer and a premiere date. The Madhouse-animated series will premiere on October 8. Nobunaga Shimazaki, Yohei Azakami, and Taku Yashiro are joining the cast as Alfred, Irving, and Jean.

This is the first full trailer for the Bibliophile Princess anime (a teaser was previously revealed). It features the opening theme song “Prologue” by Yuka Iguchi. Kashitaro Ito is singing the ending theme – “Kawabyoushi“.

The main cast includes:

  • Reina Ueda as Elianna
  • Ryohei Kimura as Christopher
  • Gen Sato as Alan
  • Yuma Uchida as Glenn
  • Koki Uchiyama as Alexei
  • Wataru Hatano as Theodore

Taro Iwasaki (Sweetness and Lightning) is directing the anime, while Mizuka Takahashi is in charge of character designs. Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) is doing the series composition. The Bibliophile Princess is a light novel written by Yui and illustrated by Satsuki Shiina. The series started serialization in Ichijinsha Bunko Iris Neo magazine in 2016. A manga adaptation by Yui Kikuta is also currently ongoing in Comic Zero-Sum.

J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and the manga adaptation in English, with Alyssa Niioka as the translator. They describe the plot as:
When book-loving Lady Elianna spots Prince Christopher—her betrothed in name only—consorting with another noble lady, she realizes the recent rumors must be true. The prince has someone he truly loves, which means the annulment of their engagement is both inevitable and fast-approaching. What she doesn’t realize is that this is merely a surface ripple—one of many where the truth runs deep, in a conspiracy surpassing her imagination!
