Call of the Night Anime Gets New Trailer, July 7 Premiere Date

The upcoming vampire anime Call of the Night has received a new trailer, along with a July 7 premiere date. Studio LIDENFILMS is in charge of the production, with Tomoyuki Itamura as the director. The new trailer previews the opening theme “Daten” by Creepy Nuts, who are also in charge of the ending theme song “Yofukashi no Uta“. You can watch it below:

Three new cast members were also announced. Kensho Ono will voice Mahiru Seki, Hiroyuki Yoshino will voice Akihito Akiyama and Yoko Hikasa will voice Kiyosumi Shirakawa. The anime previously released visuals and teaser trailers for Nazuna Nanakusa, Akira Asai, and Seri Kikyo.

The Call of the Night (Yofukashi no Uta) anime is based on a romance vampire manga by Kotoyama. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2019 and currently has 10 compiled volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga in English, and they describe the story:

One night, sleepless Yamori slips out of his home to walk the streets of his town. Life after dark is a revelation! Especially when he meets flirtatious Nanakusa… She’s a lot more fun to share the night with than old drunks on park benches. When she invites him to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them…
