‘Fanfare of Adolescence’, the upcoming horse-racing anime from studio Lay-duce, welcomed Chiaki Kobayashi as part of the cast. The voice actor will be voicing Maki Satsuki.
The franchise describes Maki as a 15-year old, born in the Fukushima Prefecture. His love for horse racing stems from his grandfather, who took him to a racing track. He is apparently also a cheerful, hard-working, and data-driven horse racing geek, who memorized the results of every major race in the past.
Speaking about his new role, Kobayashi said, “Kota Maki, who I will be playing, is a straightforward and caring boy. I’m looking forward to seeing how he will grow and develop with his classmates in the special space of a horse racing school. I’m really looking forward to seeing how he will grow through friendly competition with his classmates.”
Kobayashi is well-known for his various roles among many anime series, including That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Fire Force, Fruits Basket, Vinland Saga, Moriarty The Patriot, and several seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh!

A special livestream on 26 December (3:00PM JST) was also announced. The cast will be watching Arima Kinen, one of Japan’s well-known horse-racing events.
The upcoming anime, set to air in 2022, is animated by studio Lay-duce, under the direction of Makoto Kato. Hiroyuki Sawano is composing the music score for this project. In addition to Chiaki Kobayashi, Shogo Yano, Shimba Tsuchiya, and Natsuki Hanae are also starring in the ‘Fanfare of Adolescence’ anime. Aniplex is producing the anime.

Set in a horse racing academy where three 15-year-old boys train to become jockeys. The three-year program is extremely tough, and applicants must pass not only an academic but also a physical and fitness test. Yu Arimura is a former popular idol who, after watching horse racing for the first time, decides to join the academy.
Shun Kanami grew up on an island and only heard about horse races through radio broadcasts. Meanwhile, Amane came from a wealthy English family, and his father was a jockey. He previously studied at several horse racing institutes throughout the world.
