Classroom of the Elite Season 2 released a preview trailer and images for episode 9 along with the title and synopsis. The ninth episode is scheduled to air on August 29. The episode’s title is a quote from “The Analects,” a collection of teachings from the Chinese philosopher Confucius and his disciples: “‘If you make a mistake and do not correct it, this is called a mistake.“
The newly released preview images for the next episode show new character from Class-C, Hiyori Shiina, as well as Airi Sakura, Suzune Horikita, Kei Karuizawa, Kikyo Kushida, and Kiyotaka Ayanokoji.
In the previous episode, the anime depicted Kikyo Kushida’s past and her conflicts with Suzune Horikita and Kiyotaka Ayanokoji. The synopsis describes the next episode as follows:
Behind the Paper Shuffle test, Horikita and Kushida begin a battle over the dropout of the school. Meanwhile, when Ayanokoji is in a study meeting, Ryuen appears. He throws a question at Ayanokoji about the mail he received from Ryuen.
The light novel’s author Shogo Kinugasa is writing the scripts for the anime’s weekly preview trailers, and this week’s video features leaders of two classes: “Say, Suzune,” Class-C’s leader Kakeru Ryuen begins the trailer this week. “Stop calling me by my first name, please,” Class-D’s leader Suzune Horikita warns. But he doesn’t care and tells her to call him by his first name so that she can find it good. It doesn’t affect her and she casually replies: “Was it Jiromaru?” The Class-C student calls it a “humorous and sh*tty joke” and says that is a funny joke in an irritated deep voice. The change of mood doesn’t affect her either, and she mentions that the look on his face doesn’t tell what he actually said. The wrong answer attracts Class-C student Daichi Ishizaki’s anger with the correct answer, but the now-properly-called student scolds him for the interruption: “Remember your place as a side character.” Ishizaki willingly accepts the blame. Seeing the behavior lets the Class-D student make a comment that Ryuen also has such a convenient friend to use. “I’m like the only person who can get the best out of him,” the man simply reacts as the leader, continues to call the episode title, and asks if Horikita is in the mood to call him Kakeru. Horikita’s denial concludes this week’s preview trailer: “Not at all.“
