Classroom of the Elite Season 2 released a preview trailer and images for episode 8 along with the title and synopsis. The eighth episode is scheduled to air on August 22 and the title is a quote from “Aensis (Aeneid)” by ancient Roman poet Publius Vergilius Maro, also known as Vergil or Virgil: “Tacitum vivit sub pectore vulnus.” which translates into “Beneath her heart lives a silent wound.“
The newly released preview images for the eighth episode show Class-D students including the protagonist: Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Suzune Horikita, Kikyo Kushida, Yosuke Hirata, Teruhiko Yukimura, Akito Miyake, and Haruka Hasebe.
In the previous episode, the students learned that they would go through a special exam, and the synopsis describes the next episode as:
A study meeting was held to prepare for Paper Shuffle, and Ayanokoji is asked to join a group that Yukimura leads. A pair, Hasebe and Miyake, in the group could easily fail together depending on questions because both of them are good and bad at the same subjects. But Ayanokoji suggests that there is a way to analyze the trend of the exam’s questions…
The light novel’s author Shogo Kinugasa is writing the scripts for the anime’s weekly preview trailers, and this week’s video features Class-D’s male and female students: “Koenji-kun, I heard that the next episode has a part about Kushida-san’s junior high life,” Class-D’s Mei-Yu Wang begins this week’s preview trailer. “Inserting a scene of my body-building could make the episode more entertaining,” Rokusuke Koenji replies. Wang tells him she isn’t sure about the suggestion and can’t imagine what Koenji looked like in junior high school. He briefly answers that the man has been himself, living a “super cool” life since the very moment of his birth. “Would you mind giving me more details?” Wang asks, and Koenji responds: “About domestic stuff? Or international?” and she picks the international one. “I survived in Amazon Jungle, I got firearms training in the United States, and stylishly experienced martial arts in China.” Koenji reveals his past in quick succession, which renders her speechless for a second: “I-I see… You have been to China! I am from China, so I had a sense of affinity!” He describes her country as deep and elegant, and continues to reveal his desire for the country’s martial arts: “Hopefully I can challenge them again in the near future.” The statement gives her a realization that they are making conversations over different topics. “The next episode: Rokusuke Koenji’s Body Building Plan,” Rokusuke Koenji announces a pseudo episode title, and Mei-Yu Wang denies it and continues to conclude the preview trailer with the correct episode title.
Shogo Kinugasa writes Classroom of the Elite light novel series with art by Shunsaku Tomose. The novel currently consists of two parts, Year 1 and Year 2. Classroom of the Elite Season 2 is covering Year 1. Studio Lerche is animating it.
