The Japanese singer and songwriter Minami shared that the music video for ‘Crying for Rain’ (Kawaki wo Ameku), which was used as the opening theme song for the Domestic Girlfriend (Domestic no Kanojo) anime, has exceeded 100 million views on YouTube. You can check out the song on her official YouTube channel below:
She also thanked the fans for the huge milestone and noted that it’s been over 2 years. Check out the original tweet as well:
The video was uploaded on January 29, 2019, while the anime ran from January 12 to March 30 of the same year. In case you haven’t seen it or read the manga, the story goes:
Natsuo is a high school boy who is experiencing the crushing despair of unrequited love. To make matters worse, the person he is in love with is his teacher, Hina. In an attempt to lift his spirits, he attends a mixer where he meets a girl named Rui. The two sleep together, expecting never to see one another again, but fate has other plans. His life suddenly becomes more complicated when his father comes home and announces he has remarried a woman with two daughters whom Natsuo has met before: Hina and Rui!
While there was some controversy around the manga ending, the anime was pretty well received. Hitting 100 million on the opening music video is nice, but Domestic Girlfriend fans are probably hoping for some sequel. (Some maybe for an original ending as well.)
