Season 4 of Encouragement of Climb has revealed a new teaser trailer. Studio 8bit (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is animating the upcoming anime. Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit begins airing in 2022.
Yuusuke Yamamoto, who also worked on the previous seasons, is directing, while Yuusuke Matsuo is in charge of the character designs.
Encouragement of Climb (Yama no Susume) is a manga series by Siro. The manga started serialization in Comic Earth Star magazine, which has since gone fully digital. The manga currently has over 190 chapters.
An anime adaptation by studio 8bit aired in 2013 and had 12 4-minute long episodes. Season 2 came out in the Summer of 2014 with 24 15-minute episodes. Season 3 followed in 2018. The anime also has 2 side stories.
The cast is returning for Encouragement of Climb season 4. Yui Ogura is once again Kokona Aoba, Kana Asumi voices Hinata Kuraue, and Youko Hikasa is Kaede Satio. Yuki Iguchi voices Aoi Yukimura, Nao Touyama is Honoka Kurosaki, while Emiri Iwai is Koharu Senjuin.

Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children, they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they’ve decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?
