Feel 90s Vibes in Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal Anime Trailer

Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal revealed the first full trailer that shows off the 90s feel of the anime. Studios Graphinica and Yokohama Animation Lab are animating the series based on a 1999 game by Square Enix. The opening theme song “Tear of Will” by Saori Hayami (who is voicing Seraphina) can be heard in the trailer. The song was composed and arranged by Kevin Penkin.

The Legend of Mana anime adaptation is set to premiere in October of this year. The main cast was previously revealed and includes:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shilo
  • Kaori Nazuka as Shinju
  • Yuichiro Umehara as Ruri
  • Kaori Nazuk as Pearl Princess
  • Saori Hayami as Seraphina
  • Yuko Sanpei as Bud
  • Shino Shimoji as Corona
  • Sachi Kokuryu as Duelle
  • Yurika Kubo as Li’l Cactus/Saboten-kun

Masato Jinbo is directing the anime and overseeing the series composition. Taro Ikegami is in charge of character designs, while Yoko Shimomura is composing the music. Warner Bros. Japan is producing anime.

The official website describes the plot as:
Shilo is a young boy who lives near the town of Domina. One day, he begins hearing a mysterious voice in his dreams. The voice tells him that he has a mission to fulfill…
He soon meets two people who belong to the Jumi race. The Jumi have been targeted by others for years. The reason is the fact that they have a jewel buried in their chests, which led to many of them losing their lives. The two spend their lives fending off attackers from all over the world.
Shilo sets out on an adventure to find a special jewel that will help protect them.
