The previously announced Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV anime introduced three additional cast members on Wednesday and they are Nobuhiko Okamoto as Himmel, Hiroki Tochi as Heiter, and Yoji Ueda as Eisen. Studio Madhouse is animating the series which is slated to premiere this fall.
Keiichirou Saito is directing the anime with Tomohiro Suzuki writing the scripts. Evan Call is composing the music while Reiko Nagasawa is adapting the character designs from the manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Atsumi Tanezaki was the first previously announced cast member and she is voicing the main character Frieren who received a special visual last month. Additionally, the anime also revealed a trailer and visual last March.
The manga that the anime is adapting has been serialized in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020. Viz Media is licensing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. With the great struggle over, they all go their separate ways to live a quiet life. But as an elf, Frieren, nearly immortal, will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to terms with the mortality of her friends? How can she find fulfillment in her own life, and can she learn to understand what life means to the humans around her? Frieren begins a new journey to find the answer.
