Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End unveils the preview of episode 23 “Conquering the Labyrinth,” which is scheduled to premiere on Friday, February 16. The story of the upcoming episode is as follows:
The examiner, Sense prepared a dungeon crawl for the second round of the first-class mage exams. All who could reach the deepest part of the “Tomb of the Fallen King” would pass the exam. However, it was an impregnable dungeon that had never been explored. Frieren and the other examinees entered the dungeon, but what awaited them were demons, traps, and surprising magic.
Keiichiro Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) is directing the series at studio Madhouse (A Place Further Than The Universe) with Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) as the scriptwriter, Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) as the music composer, and Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) as the character designer.

Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger from Spy x Family) stars as the titular character Frieren while Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) voices Fern, and Chiaki Kobayashi (Gabimaru from Hell’s Paradise) plays the role of Stark.

After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
