Funimation has announced that they will stream the upcoming horror-comedy anime Mieruko-chan this October. The story follows Miko, a girl who suddenly gains the ability to see monsters, but decides to pretend she doesn’t see them rather than running away. You can check out the key visual:
The studio in charge of Mieruko-chan anime is Passione (Rokka no Yuusha, Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou (and Sotsu)). The director is Ogawa Yuuki (FLCL Progressive, Interspecies Reviewers), while Ihara Kenta (Youjo Senki, Vinland Saga, Ajin) is in charge of the script. The series also received a new promotional video (PV) last month, and you can watch that below:
The cast so far includes 3 awesome seiyuus, and they are:
Amamiya Sora will also perform the show’s opening and ending theme. The title of the OP song is “Mienai Kara ne!?” (I can’t see anything, okay?!), and the ED is “Mita na? Mita yo ne?? Miteru yo ne???” (Did you see me? You saw me?? You’re seeing me, right???).
One day, Miko suddenly started seeing grotesque beings that others couldn’t. Her response was not to run, not to face them, but to do everything she could to completely ignore them! Can she keep a straight face and continue her day-to-day life while surrounded by horrifying monsters? (Yen Press)
Mieruko-chan is of our most anticipated shows in the stacked Fall 2021 anime season, and Funimation will stream it in October. The Japanese website has also confirmed an October 3 premiere date.
