Gen Hoshino Releases Animated Music Video for I Wanna Be Your Ghost

Japanese singer Gen Hoshino has released an animated music video for his latest single “I Wanna Be Your Ghost” which was animated by Yuki Igarashi, under his new studio called OUTLINE.

I Wanna Be Your Ghost” serves as the main theme song for Ghost Book: Obake Zukan, a Japanese adventure and fantasy live-action film, which is set to be released in Japan this July 22.

Igarashi is known for his director work in Star Wars: Visions and Keep Your Hands Off Eizoken! He also served as a key animator for several episodes of Flip Flappers and Mob Psycho 100. He directed the animated music video for “Lost in Paradise” by ALI and AKLO, which was used as the first ending theme for the Jujutsu Kaisen TV anime series.

Gen Hoshino started his solo career in 2010 with the single “Kudaranai no Naka ni”. His first stint in doing music for anime was in 2018, with his song “Doraemon” which the anime of the same name has used his song as the official opening theme since the fall of 2019. He also sang the ending theme for the anime series Spy x Family titled “Kigeki/Comedy”.
