Uru Okabe’s manga series Good Night World is getting an anime adaptation. Netflix will stream it globally on October 12. A trailer and visual have been released, as well as the details on the staff, cast, and theme songs. Studio NAZ is animating the show.
Katsuya Kikuchi is directing the anime series. Michiko Yokote is in charge of the series composition and screenplay, while Suzuna Okuyama is on the character designs. The cast members include:
VTubers from the popular group Nijisanji will perform the anime’s theme songs. Kazuha will perform the opening theme “Black Crack,” while the VTuber subunit Nornis, composed of talents Inui Toko and Machita Chima, will perform the ending theme “salvia.”
Netflix describes the plot of the Good Night World anime as follows:
A shut-in older brother. A high-achieving younger brother. A father who is not respected by his own children. A mother who neglects her own household. This is a broken family, and none of its members know that they are all players in an online game.
The Good Night World anime is based on Uru Okabe’s manga of the same name. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday website and MangaONE service from December 2015 to January 2017. As part of the anime adaptation announcement, a prequel manga titled Good Night World End will begin serialization on MangaONE starting on August 1.
