High-Rise Invasion: All 12 Episodes Available on Netflix

Netflix has released the High-Rise Invasion anime worldwide, and you can already watch all 12 episodes! First off, you can check out the official synopsis by the platform:

High schooler Yuri finds herself atop a skyscraper in a strange world, where she must survive against masked assailants bent on killing their prey.

So the high schooler instantly gets thrown into the world and sees another woman die. The only “instructions” she gets are from her older brother which are very short. He basically just tells her not to treat it as a dream and to survive before she gets attacked by a masked guy herself. The Masks don’t actually want to kill their prey, but rather to get them to do it themselves out of despair.

She quickly learns that the Masks are actually controlled, and decides they are not her real enemy. The cool Sniper Mask shows up pretty early, and his backstory seems to be a big plot point and probably one that got me most interested.

Sniper Mask

There’s some more interesting characters, and there are cool powers/Masks! Another one I particularly enjoyed was the guy who reminded me of Escanor and who has a strong sense of justice. (“I am JUSTICE”).

It gets pretty graphic, and there are some rather disturbing scenes at times. You can watch the trailer to get the idea of what the anime is like (and hear some of the voice actors!):

It’s a 12-episode anime and it’s the kind of anime that features a bunch of unique abilities. They have different goals and methods, but it’s basically a death match between the ‘God Candidates’ who want peace and those who want chaos. The original manga ran from December 5. 2013 to April 10. 2019. It has a total of 21 volumes, and there’s a lot of material for those who enjoy the anime and want more. There is also a sequel manga “High-Rise Invasion Arrive” which started July 28. 2019 and is still ongoing.

Once again, High-Rise Invasion is fully out on Netflix. It’s listed as season 1, and we’ll see if it gets a sequel in the future.
