Hirogaru Sky: Pretty Cure, better known as PreCure, revealed on Wednesday during a special online broadcast that Ayumu Murase and Ayaka Nanase will be joining the cast. Murase will voice the role of Cure Wing while Nanase will voice of the role Cure Butterfly. The two characters are somewhat unique for PreCure, as Cure Wing is male and Cure Butterfly is fully grown. Hirogaru Sky: Pretty Cure is animated by Toei Animation and will premiere on February 5.
Ami Ishii performs the opening theme “Hirogaru Sky! Precure ~Hero Girls~”. She is also performing the ending theme “Hirogarhythm” featuring Chihaya Yoshitake. Kouiji Ogawa is returning to the series to direct the new, 20th, installment of the Pretty Cure franchise. The rest of the staff is comprised of the following:
The motif of the new anime is “sky,” and the theme is “hero.” The story set in two places with Precure girls: the heavenly realm Skyland and Sorashido, a city surrounded by nature. One day, Skyland’s young Princess El was snatched by a monster of the Underg Empire. Sora Harewataaru, a brave girl who aspires to be a hero, follows the princess into a mysterious hole — and emerges in another world at the city of Sorashido. Sora encounters a second-year junior high school girl named Mashiro Nijigaoka and ends up living with El at Mashiro’s home. (synopsis via Anime News Network)
The Hirogaru Sky: Pretty Cure anime series was announced as the 20th installment of the Pretty Cure franchise for its 20th anniversary. The Pretty Cure franchise started in February 2004, created by a comprised group of Toei Animation producers, collectively called Izumi Todo, and Bandai. There are 850 episodes released.
