Hololive’s Gawr Gura Goes on Streaming Break Due To Health Issues

Gawr Gura, the popular shark VTuber from Hololive English, is taking a break from streaming citing health reasons. The exact duration of a break wasn’t specified, but Hololive stated that Gawr Gura will still continue to use her Twitter to keep in touch with fans. The agency has also encouraged fans to send their well-wishes to the streamer.

In a separate statement, the VTuber said that the stream break decision was made after multiple discussions with the agency. She further said that it would be best for her to take such a break and promised fans that she will come back ‘much stronger.’

Gawr Gura last streamed on December 8 before announcing the news about the break. She posted an update on December 16, stating that she is currently visiting a doctor, and will let fans know about the future of her streaming activities.

The popular Hololive VTuber debuted under the Hololive Myth on September 12, 2020. She overtook popular Japanese VTuber Kizuna Ai to become the most-subscribed VTuber globally. At the moment, she has over 4,000,000 subscribers on YouTube. She released her first original song titled “Reflect” on June 21, 2021. She then appeared in a collaboration with fellow Hololive talent Mori Calliope on the song “Q” featuring DECO*27. It was released in February this year.
