I’m in Love With the Villainess anime adaptation is based on the light novel series written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata. It was originally published on Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2018. Ichijinsha acquired it at a later date and has published a total of five volumes. A manga adaptation by Anoshimo launched in June 2020 and it currently has 6 volumes in circulation.
Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the light novel in English and they describe the plot as:
Ordinary office worker Ohashi Rei wakes up in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. To her delight, the first person to greet her is also her favorite character, Claire Francois—the main antagonist of the story! Now, Rei is determined to romance Claire instead of the game’s male leads. But how will her villainous ladylove react to this new courtship?!
