The Jujutsu Kaisen manga, written and illustrated by Akutami Gege, has now surpassed 55 million circulating copies (including digital release)! It was first serialized in March 2018, and grew extremely popular, even more so since the anime adaptation by MAPPA. The official Twitter account shared the milestone, and it’s been 5 months since they announced 45 million. The official Jujutsu Kaisen twitter shared the news, and you can check out the confirmation that the manga has over 55 million copies:
The number will be in circulation when Volume 17 releases on October 4th. In addition, the first print of the latest volume is 2,150,000 copies. The cover of the volume:
The anime ended back in 2020, with a confirmed movie. The movie will be a prequel, covering Volume 0 and focusing on Yuta Okkotsu. It will premiere on December 24, 2021. Viz describes the story of Volume 0:
