As announced previously, the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will run for two consecutive cours, which will include the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and Shibuya Incident arcs. Studio MAPPA animated the first season of the TV anime and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. The events in the movie take place before the main series. The Shibuya Incident arc focuses on Satoru Gojo and his relationship with Geto.
Jujutsu Kaisen is based on a manga by Gege Akutami that is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga launched on March 5, 2018, and has since become one of the most popular shonen titles of today. Viz Media is publishing it in English.
The plot of Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori who accidentally becomes a vessel of one of the most dangerous curses ever – Sukuna. Soon he finds out that there are people who fight curses and that they want to kill him to minimize the danger to society. However, he meets Satoru Gojo, one of the most powerful exorcists of modern times. Gojo offers him a way out by letting him study at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, where he’ll learn how to control his (and Sukuna’s) powers and be of use to exorcists, known as jujutsu sorcerers. But, something far more sinister is brewing and Yuji’s school days might be cut short…
