There were a lot of news today at the KADOKAWA Light Novel Expo 2020 stage events, and here’s all the major announcements from Day 1.

Synopsis:
The story follows a dull high school student named Hiro Yuuki when he is tricked into joining a full-dive (fully immersive VR) role-playing game. The game, Kiwame Quest (literally, “Ultimate Quest”), is promoted as “more real than reality” with mind-blowing graphics, impressive NPC behavior, and even the scent of foliage and the sensation of wind blowing against your skin.
Unfortunately, the game is already a virtual ghost town, after being flooded with player complaints that the game is little too realistic for its own good. Its quests are nearly impossible to clear, since players have to be as physical fit to complete them as they would in real life. Players feel actual pain when they get hit, and puncture wounds takes days to heal.
The only reward is the mere sense of accomplishment. It is the complete opposite of a casual pick-up-and-play game, but Hiro vows to beat this most realistic (and most stressful) game ever.
There was a short announcement trailer as well:
Also read the synopsis:
A century has passed since magic–true magic, the stuff of legends–has returned to the world. It is spring, the season of new beginnings, and a new class of students is about to begin their studies at the First National Magic University Affiliated High School, nickname: First High. A manga spin-off of the immensely popularlight novel series The Irregular at Magic High School, The Honor Student at Magic High Schoolfollows the events of the original series as seen through the eyes of Miyuki Shiba, Tatsuya’s sister. The life of an honor student comes with a lot of expectations…and unexpected hidden feelings?!
Also read the synopsis:
After their battle with Glass, Naofumi and the other heroes have a meeting with the queen and Naofumi is shocked to learn about the seven star heroes. Still reeling from this revelation, more drama unfolds on the islands before Naofumi and his party can return to Melromarc. A massive monster bearing the appearance of a giant tortoise must be defeated. The monster is so powerful that even the mightiest adventurers cannot defeat him so what hope is there for Naofumi?
The trailer features music from Hiroyuki Sawano! Also check that out:
Also read the synopsis:
The Republic of San Magnolia has long been under attack from the neighboring Giadian Empire’s army of unmanned drones known as the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic finally developed autonomous drones of their own, turning the one-sided struggle into a war without casualties-or at least, that’s what the government claims. In truth, there is no such thing as a bloodless war. Beyond the fortified walls protecting the eighty-five Republic territories lies the “nonexistent” Eighty-Sixth Sector. The young men and women of this forsaken land are branded the Eighty-Six and, stripped of their humanity, pilot the “unmanned” weapons into battle…
The synopsis for that goes:
Sei, a 20-year-old office worker, is whisked away to a whole new world. Unfortunately for Sei, the ritual that summoned her—meant to produce a “Saint” who would banish the dark magic—brought two people over instead of one. And everyone prefers the second girl over Sei?! But this is just fine by Sei, who leaves the royal palace to set up shop making potions and cosmetics with her newfound magic. Business is booming, and this might not be such a bad life, after all…as long as her supposed Sainthood doesn’t come back to haunt her.
This where I thought that KADOKAWA Light Novel Expo 2020 – Day 1 wouldn’t have anything big left to announce. However, it suddenly pumped out some really big ones!
Also read its synopsis:
The greatest demon lord in all of history, Varvatos, has reigned for several millennia as an absolute ruler. Now, there’s only one thing left for him to do… enjoy the life of an average commoner! When he’s reincarnated as a villager in a non-descript town, everything seems to be going as he hoped but there’s just one slight problem-even when he holds back, Varvatos is still too strong! Soon, rumors about him spread and he’s approached by all sorts of men, women, and assailants! The quiet life he’s always dreamed of seems far away indeed…

In addition, the synopsis of the first season:
Anos Voldigord was a tyrannical Demon King that eradicated humans, spirits, and even the gods, but became bored of eternal warfare and reincarnated with dreams of a peaceful world. However, what awaited him in reincarnation after 2000 years were descendants who became too weak after being accustomed to peace, and all sorts of magic that deteriorated to the extreme. Anos enters Demon King Academy that gathers and educates those who are viewed as the reincarnation of the Demon King, but the academy could not see through his true powers and ends up branding him as a misfit!
This is another popular manga, and its synopsis goes:
Akaboshi Bisco is a hotheaded “Mushroom Guardian” who runs through the Rusting Winds, which rusts all it touches and brings death to humans. In order to save his master, he embarks on a journey to find the “Rust-eater”. A mushroom that is a cure-all to the rust. Together with the beautiful young man, Milo as his partner, Bisco goes on an adventure filled with ups and downs. His path brings him through the desolate Saitama Ironsand desert, a town constructed around the remains of a weapon used to defend civilization and an abandoned underground railway crawling with octopi! With the insight of Milo’s wisdom and Bisco’s sure-hit mushroom arrows, they pierce through the various threats standing in the way of their arduous journey. However, what will they do against the evil designs of the maleficent prefectural governor…

To survive, the Demon King must now work a part-time job at a fast-food joint and attempt to adapt to modern society the best the pair can as Japanese citizens, all while scheming to rule over the country in the process. But with Hero Emilia and others on Satan’s tail to slay him for good, will Japan ever become his new domain?
