Kodansha To Livestream K MANGA Launch Party on June 22

Kodansha will be livestreaming the K MANGA launch party, celebrating the app’s May 10 launch (and browser version which was released shortly after) on June 22 at 9PM ET. It will stream on Kodansha’s official YouTube channel, and there is also a dedicated landing page for the event. The theme is “The Stories Behind the Stories,” and there will be a behind-the-scenes look into manga publishing. A special video was released:

The event will be hosted in English by MC Gino, while YouTubers Gigguk and Reina Scully will serve as guest MCs. English interpretation will be provided for scenes in Japanese. The content:

The Manga Artist Behind the Stories section will include a live talk session with the FAIRY TAIL/EDENS ZERO creator Hiro Mashima and Rent-a-Girlfriend creator Reiji Miyajima. They will share a closer look at the behind-the-scenes
production of their works. Mashima will also perform live drawing, In addition, the event will feature a pre-recorded interview with the Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama.

In the A Message to Fans part, 16 original signed illustrations from different manga authors will be revealed, as well as their video messages. 16 fans will also be able to win one of the illustrations:

A video featuring the editor Koji Terayama will also be shown, featuring more of the production process. There will be an inside view of the editors’ role in the production process of DRIFTING DRAGONS, as well as a recorded scene with the manga artist Taku Kuwabara.
