The plot follows Riko, a girl growing up in an orphanage on the outskirts of the Abyss. Abyss is a giant, mysterious and unexplored hole in the ground, and those who dare go in put themselves in great danger. Even though Riko’s mother was a famed adventurer, she went in and didn’t come back, leaving Riko all alone. Riko yearns for the Abyss and wants to look for her mother, but she has no way of surviving the trip. However, everything changes after she meets a mysterious boy whom she names Reg. Reg isn’t exactly human and it seems like he came from the depths of the Abyss. The two of them embark on a dangerous journey, one from which they may not come back…
