The upcoming horror-comedy anime Mieruko-chan premieres on October 3 in Japan, while Funimation confirmed an October premiere as well. After the previous 3 teaser visuals, they now revealed the key visual, as well as 3 more cast members. You can see the visual below:
Besides the main cast of Amamiya Sora, Kaede Hondo and Ayane Sakura, the new cast members are:
Nakamura Yuuichi as Toono Zen
A young man with a warm demeanor. But angry spirits follow him…
His comment: I checked the manga when I took the audition. The story disguises as horror, disguises as a female high school student’s slice of life, disguises as a touchy story, and is horror… The work is seemingly complex but simple, and extremely easy to enjoy. The summer’s heat passed, however, I hope you have a good time with it in the lingering warmth.
Hanamori Yumiri as Yotsuya Kyousuke
Miko’s little brother
Her comment: It makes me smile to see a boy at this age in high spirits to protect his sister and mother trying to behave older. Mieruko-chan who can see them and Kyousuke-kun who can’t, I hope you enjoy their conversations seemingly on the same topic, but actually not working!
Tani Ikuko as Godmother
She’s a bit of an idiot, but she’s probably a real psychic.
Her comment: It is interesting. I believe the purer, the clearer they can see. Adults are so impure that they can’t perceive naturally. They might be getting purified as they become older, older, and a lot older, though… I receive various hints from the work. I can’t wait. I’d like it to give me more and more thrills.
Cuts from episode 1 have also been released. It premieres on October 3 in Japan, and will introduce us to ti Miko (Mieruko-chan) and the monsters. Check out the pre-released cuts:
Script : Kenta Ihara
Storyboard : Ogawa Yuuki
Direction: Shintaro Matsushima
Amamiya Sora will also perform the show’s opening and ending theme. The title of the OP song is “Mienai Kara ne!?” (I can’t see anything, okay?!), and the ED is “Mita na? Mita yo ne?? Miteru yo ne???” (Did you see me? You saw me?? You’re seeing me, right???).
One day, Miko suddenly started seeing grotesque beings that others couldn’t. Her response was not to run, not to face them, but to do everything she could to completely ignore them! Can she keep a straight face and continue her day-to-day life while surrounded by horrifying monsters? (Yen Press)
Mieruko-chan is of our most anticipated shows in the stacked Fall 2021 anime season, and Funimation will stream it in October. It’s now just days away! Lastly, you can watch the trailer:
