Milan Records has released the original soundtrack for the The Apothecary Diaries anime. It’s available on all the music platforms (Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and DEEZER) and includes 77 tracks by the three music composers – Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Penkin and Alisa Okehazama.

The Apothecary Diaries light novel of the same name is written by Natsu Hyuga, illustrated by Toko Shino, and serialized by Shunfunotomo. The series also inspired 2 manga adaptation, one written by Itsuki Nanao and illustrated by Nekokurage and the other written and illustrated by Minoji Kurata. The former is published by Square Enix and serialized in Monthly GanGan, while the latter is published by Shogakukan and serialized in Monthly Sunday Gene-X. The anime series was directed by Norihiro Naganuma, with TOHO Animation Studio x OLM animating the series. Season 2 was announced for 2025 at AnimeJapan 2024.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel series inspired a short mini-anime series called Maomao’s Diaries (Maomao no Hitorigoto). Maomao’s Diaries stars the main character Maomao, as she explains the important items shown during the week’s main anime episode. The anime is streaming on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel series is licensed and published digitally by J-Novel Club. The manga adaptation is licensed and published by Square Enix. Square Enix will also physically publish the light novel series in English starting in May 2024.

Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when the imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure catching the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries.
