My Dress-Up Darling Anime Gets 2nd Trailer and Visual, Release Date, OP and ED Themes

The upcoming anime adaptation of My Dress-Up Darling has revealed a new trailer and information ahead of its January 8, 2022 release date. Studio CloverWorks is in charge of the production, with Keisuke Shinohara as director. Watch the new trailer:

In addition, they revealed the opening and ending themes for the anime. The opening theme is “Bright Days” by Spira Spica, while the ending theme is “Love’s Fate” by Akari Akase.

The original manga has been on ongoing in the Young Gangan magazine since January 19, 2018. Square Enix Manga is also publishing the series in English as “My Dress-Up Darling” since April 14, 2020, and they describe the story:

A loner boy and a flashy girl find common ground via cosplay in this sweet and spicy romcom!

Traumatized by a childhood incident with a friend who took exception to his love of traditional dolls, doll-artisan hopeful Wakana Gojou passes his days as a loner, finding solace in the home ec room at his high school.

To Wakana, people like beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a trendy girl who’s always surrounded by a throng of friends, is practically an alien from another world. But when cheerful Marin–never one to be shy–spots Wakana sewing away one day after school, she barges in with the aim of roping her quiet classmate into her secret hobby: cosplay! Will Wakana’s wounded heart be able to handle the invasion from this sexy alien?!
