My Hero Academia Author Draws Mirko and Hawks, Looking Forward to Anime Season 6

My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi posted on September 13 an illustration of the series’ heroes Mirko and Haws, whil expressing his anticipation for the anime’s upcoming sixth season. The post’s caption tells his 2 million followers that he took a break in the week’s Weekly Shonen Magazine where his manga is currently being published, as he is preparing himself for the season’s October 1 premiere.

The newly released illustration shows excited Rabbit Hero Mirko (right) saying “About half a month until the anime,” and sleepy Wing Hero Hawks (left) replying with a yawn: “Yesh.” Above them comes a Japanese title, wordplays of their names using the conditions, like “I’MIROOKing forward to the anime vs HaYAWNks“. Sayaka Kinoshita voices Mirko and Yuichi Nakamura voices Hawks in the anime adaptation – both of them will have a role int he upcoming season.

Kohei Horikoshi has been drawing My Hero Academia manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since July 2014. The series released the first compiled volume in November 2014 and is slated to publish the 36th volume on October 4, 2022.

Viz Media licensed the manga for English releases and describes the plot of Volume 1 as:
