My Hero Academia just released the first stills from the upcoming anime original episode, “My Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle.” As previously announced, “UA Heroes Battle” is a card game-themed episode based on the same game created by UA’s support class. The episode screens at 10 movie theaters in Japan from October 20 – 27, 2023, and is set during Shoto, Deku, and Bakugo’s internship with Endeavor. See the new stills below:
The official synopsis for “UA Heroes Battle” reads:
The third year, Mirio Togata, pays a visit to the students of Class 1-A, who are bored because they are not allowed to go outside. He brings them a card game called U.A. Heroes Battle that the support course made. This game, where players can use cards of various U.A. students, is tough, just like U.A. itself. Who will win the card battle?!
Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2014 and has been collected in 34 volumes. The manga has inspired six anime seasons, with an upcoming seventh season and fourth movie announced. My Hero Academia has received critical praise for its soundtrack, nuanced depictions of heroes, and animation, developed by Studio Bones.
