My Hero Academia: You’re Next movie revealed a new trailer earlier today following the first episode of the four-part Memories recap series. Studio BONES is animating the original project, which was announced last year. The story will be set in a destroyed society. Tensai Okamura is directing the movie, which will premiere on August 2 in Japan. The trailer features a new villain – a Dark Might, who looks just like All Might. Kenta Miyake, who voices All Might, also voices the new villain:
Kohei Horikoshi, the original author of the My Hero Academia series, will be supervising the production. This is the fourth movie in the My Hero Academia franchise and it follows Two Heroes (2018), Heroes:Rising (2019), and World Heroes’ Mission (2021). All of them featured original storylines.
My Hero Academia anime is based on a manga series by Kohei Horikoshi that has been serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014. The manga received an anime adaptation by studio BONES in 2016. Season 2 aired in 2017, followed by the third season in 2018. The fourth part of the anime series started airing in the fall of 2019 and ended in the winter of 2020. The fifth season aired in 2021, while the sixth and latest aired from October 2022 until March of last year. The seventh season is slated for May 4 premiere date.
