Studio Chizu announced a new film by the director Mamoru Hosoda, BELLE. The title of the film in Japanese is Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime in Japanese. The film will premiere in Japan in Summer of 2021. Also, the studio’s official Twitter revealed a teaser which you can watch below:

Also, if you don’t know what “BELLE” is about, the story is as follows:
A 17-year-old high school girl, Suzu, who lost her mother in an accident when she was young. She lives with her father in a depopulated rural town of Kochi and learns about the virtual world “<U>” on the Internet. She joins <U> using an avatar named Belle, whose singing attracts the people worldwide. One day a mysterious dragon-like creature appears in front of her.
Mamoru Hosoda is known for directing films like “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo), Summer Wars, Mirai, and The Boy and The Beast (Bakemono no Ko). BELLE will mark the 10th anniversary of Studio Chizu. Mamoru Hosoda also mentions that Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime is a film that he wanted to make this movie even before he became a director. We truly can’t wait for the film’s premiere next Summer!
