Adachitoka’s Noragami manga has officially ended after 109 chapters and over 13 years of serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine. The final, 27th, volume will be released on February 16. The cover of the final volume features Yato:
Noragami: Stray God is a manga written and illustrated by the manga artist duo Adachitoka. The series began serialization in 2010 in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in 2014.
Kodansha describes the plot as:
Yato is a homeless god. He doesn’t even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers! So to achieve his ambitious goals, he’s set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he’ll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can’t afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.
The manga received an anime adaptation by Studio Bones which has a total of 25 episodes. The first season was produced in 2013: the final three episodes were filler content. The sequel, Noragami Aragoto, aired in 2015. The anime also has four original animated DVDs (OAD) and features original arcs not included in the manga. The first two take place between episodes 19 and 20 of the Aragoto, while the remaining two are set after the events of the second season.
