ONE PIECE released episode 1010 this Sunday, and we’re getting close to the face-off between the Straw Hats and the Yonkous. The episode started with Law looking at a Poneglyph, thinking about his past with Corazon, as well as a conversation he had with Robin. He wants to learn about the reason behind his ‘checkered’ life, and the two of them concluded that they have to defeat the 4 Yonkous to that end. The mystery of the ‘D’ was also brought up in this episode, reminding us of Corazon’s story to Law and him saying they were also called “Enemies of the Gods”.
Meanwhile, Chopper is working on a cure against the virus, and he gets infected too. Queen drops the antibodies to Apoo, who then has to run in a cruel game of tag. Chopper figures out that heat is one of the ways to battle the virus, but they still need the antibodies. Meanwhile, the Akazaya samurai continue fighting Kaido in what seems like a lost battle. To add to their misery, Big Mom flies to the roof. The samurais’ resolve was emotional as always, but it’s clear they’ve done everything they could. Right as Big Mom arrives, Kiku’s arm falls down, which is what triggers Zoro.
He realizes again that he has no time to waste on a dumb game, and decides to go after Apoo seriously. In what was definitely the highlight of ONE PIECE episode 1010, he uses his Lion’s Song to take out Apoo. This scene was already hyped for the manga readers, and the animation certainly lived up to it. We see them all in shock as it takes merely a few seconds for him to take out one of the supernova.
You can watch ONE PIECE episode 1010 on both Funimation or Crunchyroll.
