One Piece Film Red Gets Blu-Ray Release by Crunchyroll in July

ONE PIECE FILM RED is getting its Blu-ray release by Crunchyroll, and it scheduled to release this summer on July 11, 2023. The movie broke records following its November 2022 premiere, and the Blu-ray will include the 3 special episodes that were shown as a prequel to the movie events. Watch the trailer for the movie:

The three episodes are titled: “A Faint Memory! Luffy and Red-Haired’s Daughter Uta!,” “A Pledge for the New Genesis! Luffy and Uta!,” and “The Captain’s Log of the Legend! ‘Red-Haired’ Shanks!”. The blue-ray will also include the trailers and a web preview.

ONE PIECE FILM RED grossed over ¥2.25 billion (~$15 million) with 1.57 million attendees in just the opening weekend in Japan. That made the biggest opening-weekend numbers when it comes to both the audience and earnings of films in 2022, and it also quickly became the best-performing film in ONE PIECE‘s history.

Crunchyroll describes the story for the movie:
Uta—the most beloved singer in the world whose voice has been described as “otherworldly”—is renowned for concealing her own identity when performing. Now, for the first time ever, she will reveal herself to the world at a live concert.

With the Navy watching closely, the venue fills with Uta’s fans—including excited pirates and the Straw Hats led by Luffy, who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance—all eagerly awaiting the voice that the whole world has been waiting for to resound. The story begins with the shocking revelation that she is the enigmatic Shanks’ daughter.

The additional home video titles releasing in July include The Devil is a Part-Timer! and The Ancient magus’ Bride. Check out Crunchyroll’s full July 2023 release calendar below (schedule subject to change):
